If you live in Lake County California or in the surrounding areas, there are plenty of animal rescue organizations who are urging people to come and find their newest member to their family. There are many dogs locked in kennels that would rather be in warm comfortable homes!
There are a variety of dogs available for adoption this week from shepherds, retrievers, cattle dogs, huskies, terriers and pit bulls. Dogs range in age from puppies to more mature dogs, they are both small and big and all want and need loving homes. A beautiful dog, brutally abused, was saved from being put down due to the rescue efforts of some truly caring people, according to WPEC CBS News. With severe acid burns all over her body, a dog named Midnight wouldn’t eat and the fear in her eyes was apparent when she was brought to safety.
Acid was poured from the top of Midnight’s head straight down her back. She was given to Diane Potter at Justin Bartlett Animal rescue in Royal Palm Beach FL. Despite being told that the injuries were so serious and the pain was extremely excruciating, Potter wanted to give Midnight a chance at life. (more…)
A small 10 pound dog named, Psycho is being called a hero! His bravery was commended in Texas yesterday for saving a little girl from a venomous rattlesnake. As reported by KCEN, the young child, Maya Delarosa was out making mud pies with her sister when they suddenly heard a hissing and saw a rattlesnake curled up and ready to strike.
The Chihuahua-poodle mix jumped in to save the day by putting himself between the snake and the girl. Little Psycho paid a heavy price though, as the snake bit the dog in the eye. (more…)

The world’s first lab grown burger is being unveiled this morning, according to NBC news. It cost $325,000 to create and some brave people in London are going to test it out this Monday morning. Beef from test tubes could be the future as scientists have been working on proving that it can be grown in a lab from cattle stem cells, beet juice, caramel and breadcrumbs. Scientists want to prove that this lab grown meat is also more environmentally friendly. Will people be convinced and buy this kind of faux meat though? (more…)
