They invited the community to come celebrate with them as they introduced their budding non profit animal welfare organization. The residents of the St. Louis MO area refused to give up on an abandoned Pit Bull who was stuck in a dark and cold wet sewer for four full days and nights, according to PawNation. It was reported that animal control officers gave up on the animal because they were only “scaring him further.” They said he could leave at any point and stopped their rescue efforts. Locals were not going to accept that.
After the dog’s loud cries got the local’s attention, they fed him and looked in on him until they could figure out a way to get him out of the sewer. That is when they were shot down by animal control. (more…)

Dogs are more than just man’s or woman’s best friend. This has been proven by a study out of Emory University. As you may know, when a dog needs an MRI at the veterinarian’s office, he or she must be put under anesthesia to get them to cooperate. For the past 2 years, researchers have been training dogs to go into MRI scanning machines to get scans of their active brains.
Researchers found that dogs recognize the scents of the people they live with and that they have positive feelings for them. They love people for the same reasons people love each other; social comforts and social bonds. The active brain scans proved that dogs use the same part of their brains to feel called the caudate nucleus for anticipated moments.

Wright Way Rescue is desperately asking for your help with donations after the Niles Animal Rescue Center suffered a devastating accident. The suburban animal rescue facility in Niles, which is located in Cook County Illinois, experienced a school bus crashing into their building, making the center inhabitable. The organization had to rapidly find foster homes and temporary living conditions for all of their animals.
No people or animals were hurt from this accident; however, the building has been said to have suffered major structural damage and will have to be torn down completely. The Wright Way Rescue is asking for donations to help with costs and for people to please help foster its animals. (more…)
