Did you know that the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has a Behavioral Rehabilitation Center that helps animals to recover from many distasteful and even traumatic situations in which they have been placed? The ASPCA is a non-profit organization with the mission to help prevent any kind of cruelty towards animals. It has based out of New York City since 1866.
The organization’s Behavioral Rehabilitation Center is located in Madison NJ and works very hard to treat dogs who are fearful, undersocialized and not ready for adoption quite yet. The warm and loving staff gives these dogs much needed support after they are rescued from some of the most appalling conditions. They rehabilitate the animals and get them ready to join forever loving homes. The ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center offers extensive care and treatment for animals who have survived very abusive situations. When PetSocial.org read about Pets with Disabilities (PWD) out of Prince Frederick Maryland, we had to share information on this phenomenal organization. It is a nonprofit animal rescue that accepts animals, mainly dogs, from the Mid-Atlantic states. However, this is not just any ordinary shelter with an ordinary staff of paid workers and volunteers. It takes a truly special kind of person to work with and care for the kinds of animals that find temporary shelter at PWD until their forever homes are located. (more…)
