This should have never happened! According to a news release from the Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS), they responded to a phone call sharing that a male pit bull was found tied to a fence with duct tape covering its muzzle. The dog was suffering from malnutrition and other injuries as well. This has been called, “an extremely serious animal cruelty and neglect case.”
The organization is now asking to anyone who knows anything about this incident to please contact them to help with the arrest of the person or people responsible for this incredible case of animal cruelty.
The dog was found near West Kentucky Street, near the corner of 26th St. and Garland Street. He was brought to a local humane organization called The Arrow Fund. They specialize in the rehabilitation of animals that suffer from cruelty.
The dog received treatment and according to the LMAS, he needed surgery on his mouth and jaw and may possibly need to have his rear leg amputated.
Please, if you have information that can lead to the prosecution of the party responsible, call Louisville Metro Animal Services at (502) 363-6609. The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that can help lead to the arrest and conviction of the animal abusers, according to the news release.
